Project Overview

DiHola is a culturally driven dating app focused on creating authentic, intelligent connections within the Hispanic and Latino community. Built as a follow-up to the success of Say Allo, DiHola leverages a custom machine learning algorithm and video-forward experience to guide users to compatible matches. The Code & Cart team led the end-to-end mobile development of DiHola across iOS and Android platforms, crafting a fully integrated experience that earned Apple’s recognition as one of the "Best Dating Apps" in the App Store.

The Brand

DiHola was launched to serve a growing audience seeking a more culturally relevant dating experience. Designed for U.S. and Latin American markets, the brand emphasizes inclusivity, safety, and intelligent matchmaking. Every interaction within the app was built to reflect a deeper understanding of what connection means in the modern Latino experience — from bilingual onboarding flows to culturally resonant prompts and discovery features.

The Challenge

To bring DiHola to life, we needed to develop a fully custom mobile infrastructure that could support multilingual functionality, advanced video integration, machine learning matchmaking, and real-time messaging across platforms. The app also had to meet strict performance, security, and moderation standards to scale responsibly in the dating space.

The Code & Cart team architected DiHola from the ground up using a cross-platform approach, with native builds for both iOS and Android. We collaborated closely with the client’s internal product, design, and data science teams to implement a machine learning-driven algorithm—co-developed with experts in behavioral science and AI. We also integrated advanced video technology, multilingual UX, and real-time chat functionality. The entire platform was supported by a custom admin environment for user management, content moderation, and data analytics. Localization included both English and Spanish interfaces, with seamless transitions across user segments.

DiHola launched with significant momentum, quickly gaining traction in the U.S., Mexico, and across Latin America. The app’s unique value proposition and performance led to Apple featuring DiHola as one of its "Best Dating Apps" in the App Store—a major milestone that elevated its visibility in a highly competitive space. With strong engagement across key markets, DiHola quickly established itself as one of the top apps for Hispanic and Latino single adults—earning a place alongside category leaders like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Chispa. It stands as a benchmark mobile project for culturally driven, high-performance app development.
